My dad's .22 pump (Stevens, circa 1938 I think) shoots S, L and LR. Just like the day he bought it. Accurate too.

Liberty Ammunition's Silverado Lead-Free rifle catridges are monolithic, deep-cavity, fragmenting rifle rounds, the world's first high-performance .223 Remington rounds that deliver superior lethality. Made of nickel-plated copper bullets, the rounds leverage Liberty's proven and patented technologies to deliver superior range, accuracy, and terminal effect. The result - stopping power of more than 1100 ft. lbs and fragmentation of up to 9 pieces while achieving maximum effectiveness. I am only getting started on testing these out with the 9mm and 308 they are expensive, they are light, maybe 33% lighter, their recoil is lighter, accuracy is great but you have to adjust your sites because they are faster and lighter and therefore shoot higher at 50 to 100 yards than expected no misfires, louder and more accurate but expensive because they are new www.theshootingstore.com/shop?category=5&manufacturer=724

Bought a brick of .22 short, long and LR and a brick of Colibri + a 1000 case of 7.62 x 39
I'll have to look at what I paid when I find the receipt
I always buy up a bunch of ammo when I go to KY because my Daughters baby daddy works at a big gun store there and I can get whatever they have at his discount which is always almost cost. + I don't have to worry about any paper work or limits on anything there.

I keep shorts around. They are handy for a quiet kill on small stuff...
