Thoughts, opinions, personal knowledge? www.tnwfirearms.com/product-p/asrx-cplt-9445-xxxx-xxxx.htmThis package gives you all you need to convert your new ASR to any of the three available calibers: .45 ACP, 9mm, or .40 caliber I like the idea of the versatility of the gun.... but is it really a good gun?

I have never heard of this one but I will ask around. I got this brand some a couple of years ago, not this package (I have two lowers and 7 different calibers(2 .22, .223, 5.56, 2 7.62x39,.308, 9MM) I am not a big AR fan but I have to say I like these and I really like the ability to "quickly" convert to another caliber and keep the same furniture and the same optics. www.mgi-military.com/store/index.php?product_id=104&type=&category=21This package gives you the 9mm using Colt magazines, a .22 and a 5.56 and the case is TSA accepted. It costs more and there are other options and other calibers available. You can start with a basic kit in 5.56, or a pistol caliber and add the conversions for what you want at any time. I think there are 13 different possibilities from a .22 to a 50. Watch the video, the expert can change it out in under a minute. I keep one base with optics for 4 calibers and another base with optics for 3 others. I have my different aim point for the different calibers taped to the side of the optic. I am not knocking the above product I don't know anything about it (yet) But I love the concept and the ones I got. I love the concept enough I have .22 conversions for my Beretta, Colt and Glock handguns

It was a big step. I bought them the optics magnifiers and all when I got my Dads estate. They did make me a good deal on the two packages I got. At the time they were not offering as many "package" options as they do now. The only single I got was the 9MM they didn't have it when I got mine and I had to add it latter (just the barrel and mag assemblies.
2 cases, 2 Holographic optics, 2 magnifiers, two upper assemblies and lower receiver assemblies, 7 mag well/assemblies and 7 barrel assemblies cost me about $6000.00

This only a personal opinion, with NO knowledge of the platform. Too many pieces to deal with in an emergency. Too many separate calibers to carry. All low power pistol calibers. Resighting after barrel caliber changes. Just not a way to go for me. PRO's = tacticool. Probably the only kid on the block with one.

I like it. I can see the advantages of having it. But for a little less money you can have all three calibers in Hi-Point pistol and rifle. Ugly but they go boom every time. Now you've armed three people.

Everybody knows I buy Hi-Point for my "might be discovered" caches
If I loss a couple of $100 bucks its better than $500+
I would rather have a Hi-Point than a knife
and I an't had one Hi-Point not go boom, of the problems I know about its the mag not the gun
just sayin'

For me it ain't the WOW factor
I have a .22, a 7.6 x 39 and a .308, with tested optics and loaded mags, in a single case at the SC retreat. If I can get there without a rifle I will have what I need waiting there (and a few other things too)
I have a .22, a .556/.223, a 7.6 x 39 and a 9 MM, with tested optics and loaded mags, in a single case in the truck box.
Either case takes up the space of a single hard gun case.
I have already sighted in each combination with the corresponding upper assemble where the same optics are used. The hold up or hold down at 100 yards is taped to the optic.
It takes me about 45 seconds to go from in the case to ready to shoot and about 1 1/2 minutes to change out a caliber.
I am not really arguing about it or trying to justify my spending 6K (except to my Wife, I think she thinks I got rid of some guns to keep less, but I don't know where she might have got that idea)
For me when considering that despite having many guns and much ammo I might be in a situation where I need to have to acquire ammo I would have the most popular options to pick from.
For me, at the time, it was right
But I an't even going to say how many Hi-point handguns or rifles I have buried somewhere, my wife might read this

And you also have to remember I am the "id yet" who keeps an 870 and 100 rounds for it in about 11 different places too
So....................

I would like a carbine in the same caliber. I do not plan to shoot it much and if I can add versatility to the mix for a "reasonable" price then why not?
