It seems that when we loose power in the winter is when you want to nosh all day even though you are not hungry, so that is why junk food goes so quickly.

Good reminder. That list shows up a lot, but every time I read it I'm reminded of something I need to work on (especially since many of the items on the list are consumables that disappear or get used up over time if you aren't monitoring them).

I know that list is not in any particular order, but I'd emphasize somewhere near the top:

Gasonline/Fuel
Batteries
Baby Items
Convenience foods like cans and bags/boxes

That list is extensive and I'm proud to say we've got it basically covered (yes, we even have items like rat poison and carbon monoxide alarm and spark plugs! ha ha)

but even so I found some things I need to stock up on:

garbage bags,
lumber/plywood,
seasoned firewood (we have some but if that became our heat we'd need a lot more!)
