that's why I have a 50 yard range in the backyard (150 in the fall and winter when the leaves are gone off the hardwoods).
there are 10 houses in this complex and 7 of them have backyard ranges, sometimes it sounds like a small war on Saturday mornings.
the backstop at my Sons is 4 hardwood logs 3' across and 8' tall, gives a 12x8 backstop 3' deep. (the gaps where they come together have additional logs behind)
at my house its a big pile of sand so I can sift the lead out and remelt it. I can get back to 300 yards on a fire break before it curves.

Sorry to hear your mom is feeling poorly. Keeping her in my prayers, she really does need a break. Oh yea, leave your wallet home when you go to the gun show so you don't buy another gun you just won't believe you did buy.

NO! NO! NO! As sure as you did there would be the find of a lifetime Happens every time. One thing about guns is if it is a good buy you can always sell it to someone. I have a friend who buys guns from people he works with when they need money and resales them for a good profit. Sometimes one won't work just right and he will bring it over for me to try and fix, some times I can, sometimes I can't but its fun to try. most times it will be dirt or a broke pin or spring (easy fixes) some times it will be someone took it apart and put it together wrong (easy fix) once an older single shot .22 rifle would not extract the spent shell. I took that thing all apart and put it back together 3 times without it extracting, before I looked it up and found out it didn't come with an extractor, the shell had to be pushed out with a wooden rod. So I bought it from him for $70. after I told him what the deal was and he didn't think he could use it. Its worth a little over a $1000. but I didn't sell it. the barrel is heavier than normal and you have to push each shot out so I use it with a .177 pellet and a #4 nail gun shot. That pellet will go clean through a 1/2" iron plate with a hole as smooth as if you drilled it. A .22 LR just dents it.

Which scope is it? 42mm objective should be good and bright depending on the glass, but 16 is hard to hit with good clarity. (What I'm really wondering is first or second focal plane reticle?) Edit: Just realized I was being dense........ Now I see it.

The zoom to 16 is for those matchbox size targets at 200 yds. Not saying I can hit that far but it's fun to try. I usually keep my zoom scopes around 6. I will sight in at 4x then 8x then probably 12x. Then just see where 16 hits...it has standard 1/4" at 100 yds but externally adjustable rather than caps. The illuminated reticle is for last light to make it easier to see. Is that what you were asking? Jimmy

I generally don't leave a gun show without an empty wallet. Funny how that happens.
