REMINGTON ARMS CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT remingtonfirearmsclassactionsettlement.com/I am sure others here are affected by this recall. And, I understand it isn’t really a new issue, just a new reminder. It may have been covered on here before. This time it “implies” some sort of liability for safety applies with the owner for the “known” item. The problem I am having is “some” of my recalled items were not purchased through “normal” channels. In other words, if I choose to respond to the recall and have my triggers replaced, then I am giving someone, at a minimum Remington, a list of those firearms. I do not like it, but I do not like an unsafe gun either. So what are others doing/did, if you feel free to share that information? remingtonfirearmsclassactionsettlement.com/

If a person had something on that recall list they didn't want to list, replacing the trigger themselves is an option.

But you won't get the trigger free without a serial number. Several years ago I had a 2006 or 2007 700 BDL in 7 Mag go boom once when I took it off safety. Local gunsmith said it was a known problem but Remington wasn't owning up to it. I dropped an adjustable Timney trigger in for just under $100. Don't have the rifle now, but that solved it.
My best friend has a 700 BDL in 7 RUM, and he did the same before finding out if was a problem.

When the news of the legislation came out, there was a rash or cheap rifles at the gun shows around here. Cheap enough to warrant purchase of an after market trigger for them.

Ruger had the same problem with tang safeties. I changed a couple of the non adjustable remingtons just because of the hassles of sending them back. Owner operated screw drivers cause most unintentional discharges. (The nut "behind" the screw driver.)

I registered for the repair. I hated to do it because it was a rifle I bought from an individual. Oh, well, I can't have an unsafe firearm.

UPS picked up one of mine yesterday. Circus Monkeys attacked the UPS truck on the driveway so I guess it's gone for good now. Headed to SC.
