There are some things I agree with, but many I do not about the author and his opinions. The upside is he does qualify his work by stating it's the results of research. The downside is very little is from direct experience.
I've met a number of people in my life who've survived real situations, who do not base their opinions on vicarious second and third hand accounts.

I don't see any link but you know me, so here goes. This guy is full of crap. He's probably never prepped a day in his life and wouldn't know a pressure cooker from a waffle iron. I bet he's never even tasted home canned spiced applesauce right out of the jar, accompanied by a nice strip of homemade jerky. If someone shot off a gun next to him, he'd probably wet his pants. I'll guess he lives in some high rise in a very large trendy city and subsists on Starbucks and microwaved frozen food, and doesn't even own a pickup truck or a German Shepherd. Heck, he probably has a yappy little Pomeranian. (How'm I doing so far?) He can barely string together a sentence that makes sense, and his grammar and spelling... well, it's a direct reflection on the state of education in the US today. I see no value in his article (it was an article, right?) and think it should just be deleted immediately.
There. I am rather proud of myself for having written a concise, witty, cutting analysis of a piece I have never even laid eyes on. So how'd I do?
