Took the three amigos to a local range last week. It's the first time I got to shoot for fun since I was still in Connecticut. The Remington R1 felt fantastic to shoot. It was also tons easier taking aim with the sights on it as opposed to the kind found on milsurp 1911s. The Glock I bought last month was the easiest for me to use as far as sights go. Also neither the Glock nor the Remington had any hiccups between the boxes of ammo I went through. I cannot say the same for my S&W Bodyguard. In addition to the laser no longer working (it's an older Bodyguard so its original laser is Insight as opposed to Crimson) the hammer spring seems to have weakened because twice if not thrice the round failed to go off (but always fired when I pulled the trigger again). I've already emailed S&W about both issues and hope to hear from them soon. Once those issues get resolved I don't think I'll have any issue using any of them for taking care of unwelcome and unexpected visitors.
310 rounds fired off between them all. Besides the target ammo some of those were Remington hollowpoints that I desperately needed to circulate through, and they've been since replaced with some Hornady XTPs and I decided to get a box of the RIP rounds (an afterthought above all else). Accuracy is not an issue for any of the three. Once my body and mind remembered what to do for proper fundamentals for shooting a handgun every round went where I intended for it to go. Every time that wasn't the case I knew it was something I did, and corrected the issue accordingly.

Nothing like trigger time to work stress out, good camaraderie and just good times...

The person who said that money can't buy happiness just didn't have enough of it.

Hey Ceorlmann! What do you think of the fit and finish on the Remington? Did you compare it to other 1911s, Kimber SA, Ruger etc?
I really like the looks of a nice 1911, excellent firearm and sexy too! 100+ year old design still one of the best....sort of like the ole ought six or Mauser 98... Anyway, that said, the ergonomics on some newer plastc guns are impressive to hold and make nice groups downrange.
Would be cool to see a shootout between the 3, 10 rounds@ 10 yds or similar. You'd have to shoot a couple hundred more slugs through both .45 s....It's only fair they be properly broken in. 😋
Congrats on the new steel!
