Use the screw-eyes to keep the snare/trip wire where you need it to use what ever trigger you are using

if hunting man you can paint the stainless dark green/black/brown

keeps the wire where you need it and insures smooth and easy wire movement

not saying you can't do snares/trip wires without them, just that they are handy.
