Howdy all. Couldn't sleep. Just catching up on posts, threads etc. Glad to hear everyone made it through the storms ok. Flying up to Anchorage tomorrow with the wife for a week to check out some properties in the Kenai near Homer and Anchor Point. Gotta get up soon and drive to Phoenix to catch the flight. It's about half the price compared to flying out of Tucson. Looking at 10+ acres with a couple over 30. Most of it outside of town is $1000-$2000 an acre....fairly cheap in this day and age. Already contacted a realtor. She's been helpful so far. Diverticulitis flared up again a couple days ago but seams to be getting better. Taking antibiotics, can't eat much. On the bright side I'll lose a few pounds. Been putting together an "Alaskan" rifle. Howa 1500 chambered in 375 Ruger....Decent action, same as weatherby vanguard's, to cheap to pass up. Don't care much for the houge stock so I fitted a Banser/high tech ultralight stock for a Remington 700 to it. Also Remington 700 sights fit the barrel contour. Both rear sight screw holes lined up perfect. Will need to drill and tap one more hole for the front sight. Got rid of the hinged floor plate and went with adl style as the Howa floor plate weighed about half a pound. Will likely cut and crown the 24" barrel to somewhere in the 20-22" range. So far far without a scope it's at 6 3/4 lbs. It's gonna kick! Lol! Not to worried as I don't plan on doing much shooting from the bench other than working up some loads. I'll post some pics when I get back. Anyway, hope y'all are doing well and enjoying life. I really enjoy reading your comments, thoughts and shared knowledge. Take care.

Thanks you all for the kind words of encouragement. My apologies for being absent for the last year. It's been a crazy adventure. Purchased property last April.... made an offer on a property in Alaska....literally two hours later I received an offer offer on my house in Tucson (sold it). Is God good or what?!! Amazing!

Definitely like pics of the rifle! Ill post some pics when I get it out of storage. I did finish it and fired several handloads. Rifle came out to 6.6 lbs without a scope and about 7.5 with the scope and rings. As you might imagine pushing a 270 grain bullet @2700 fps it does kick a bit.
