I had a $10 coupon to burn on the website beprepared.com so I browsed around and found Fired Up! fuel. Paid six bucks total (for shipping) and for the convenient ignition methods this is definitely worth the money even without the coupon. Starts up very easily using the flame of a match or lighter, but not so with a firesteel (used the knife/firesteel combo I bought from crash years ago). Granted, that could've been due to the fact that it's been awhile since I last used a firesteel to start a fire, but I also watched the sparks hit and briefly ignite what they touched; the Fired Up! fuel included. It does say on the label that it lights up via a match or lighter so my failure was my doing/not following instruction; I'd argue. Is it a be-all? Heck no. Not by a long shot. However, if the idea is to expend very little effort and have quick success in lighting a fire then I think this was money well-spent. It's basically ten bucks for a plastic tub of 1.9 lb of this fuel. I used maybe a tablespoon's worth per attempt so this can be used many times in my case. Shelf life is good being advertised at 30 years per beprepared's website. I will give this stuff another go while it's downpouring to see how well it works in rain (something else it's advertised to work in), so I will hopefully remember to follow up with this soon.

The price was right and it works...that's a winner in my book.

Gave it a go during some wind and rain about a week ago. It was harder to light, but I think that had more to do with protecting the match flame since once the fuel itself caught it was easier to get a fire going.
