survivalgear.us/collections/navigation/products/compass-cardsusing a compass isn't hard but some struggle with it. plus most use their phones gps these days. I don't have a phone and I don't carry a compass in my EDC. I do have one in my bigger kits. I do have a a GPS in the car and truck and they come in handy when we take side trips in the smoky mountains. I fact I am going on a gold hunt next weekend and will use the GPS to get to the trail head and a compass to get to the sand bar I want to look at from there. Although I suspect there will be a trail, as I can't be the only one to see the potential of the spot. But these big rains we have had this month should have washed new placer deposits out of the mountains. Got off track. These cards look like a very good/easy way to refresh your compass use and the overlays should be of value. Small enough for a pocket and light enough not to matter.

Map reading and compass use definitely my weak spot.

Nope was never a forward observer. I can read a compass or I’d never made it through the land nav courses in OCS, Officer basic. But it’s not my strong suit. I’m not the guy you want picking the way through the woods. More importantly I know it and admit it.
