Going to take the 10 year old twins panning for gold today.
I wanted to take them up in the mnts but Dr said no due to my eye pressure so we are going to another area about an hour from here that is only 30 feet higher.
Then we are going to the lake and go fishing after that.
I made up some new catfish baits and want to see how they work.
Ivory soap with beef blood, garlic and corn flakes, liver and strawberry kool-aid, chicken and grape kool-aid. We will see what happens.
I'll post back.

We went gold panning for about 2 1/2 hours this afternoon and brought home 8 pieces of gold
Pictures to follow soon, my camera card is broken so I need to download pics from my Wife's phone.
I was a pretty simple process to follow but required to be followed correctly so as not to lose the gold. We only panned one bucket of gold sand between the four of us so 8 pieces was on the high side of the expectation. Also I suspect the twins washed some out of their pans.
Once I found a couple of pieces and understood how the gold would "react" to the panning process, it was easy to determine if there was gold in the pan or not.
The twins also had a bucket each for gemstones but that went pretty fast and they each got at least a 1/2 a sandwich baggie of "pretty rocks"
I brought home 6 buckets of gold sand for them to play in while they are here the next week. Then they go home to KY.
They had a good time and that was the purpose of the trip, so it was a success.
I didn't eat until after we were done and that helped with what is left of the pancreatitis, it usually runs about 4 days for me, the sooner I start on the antibiotics the quicker it goes away.

Another thing about gold that I had forgotten was that people expect placer/flake gold to be flat
But it is not. It looks like it is but when magnified it looks like an asteroid or nugget, not smooth at all.
So to post a picture I was using photo bucket, but its been so long since I used it I don't know the password, so I am trying to find it so I can post if I don't I will create a new PB account.
