Dick Morris has been talking alot lately about this UN treaty on international gun trade and how it is likely to affect our 2A rights here in the US. He says because of the Supremecy Clause, that any UN treaty we go onboard with is equivelent to an Amendment to our Constitution. If this is true, is our 2A rights about to be hacked at the knees? It is no secret this admin is not gun friendly at all so, is this how they finally disarm the law abiding populace? Hoping to get some good discussion and info going here......

I don't see the Supremacy Clause in the same light, but that does not mean the administration will not try to use this to take our guns.
Time to buy guns with cash now and do not register anything that does not have a paper trail to you.

Obama can sign this treaty a hundred times but without senate ratification it does not have any force of law. The folks that would support this treaty in the Senate do not have the numbers to get this ratified. But it is important to be vigilent and make sure they never get those numbers.

I've heard there are 20 GOP Senators are leaning towards ratifying if it gets signed. That should give enough votes I think.

And you do that by educating all of your neighbors and your friends who are gun owners and have (make sure) they're registered to vote and then that they actually do vote. This is one serious election, More so than any other I think..think Supreme Court justices... if he has four more years we're totally screwed

Thats exactly how they did it in the PI. They are not illegal persay, they even hold regular gun shows, but the average filipino cannot afford the 1,000 dollar tax USD per firearm, nor the 100 percent tax on the rounds. Yep - that's the plan. We should have pulled out of the UN many years ago. If we don't clean house in November, they already have a more immediate plan to implement: The supreme court recently reminded us that Congress has unlimited power to impose taxes. The gun control crowd will simply put a HUGE tax on every cartridge/bullet/casing. Think in terms of a tax like $5.00 or $10.00 or even much more per round....... "Gee, we aren't stepping on your Second Amendment rights. You can buy all of the guns you want. All of this new tax money will be used for the general health and welfare of our citizens - we will give you lots of free stuff!" When sales fall off, many manufacturers will dramatically reduce or cease production except for government contracts. The DHS knows this, so they ordered a few hundred million rounds to ensure their own long term supply. Marc

"Let there be no confusion. Any treaty that includes civilian firearms ownership in its scope will be met with the NRA’s greatest force of opposition." Great quote from the speech.
