so I think I said something before about I was now a type 2 diabetic and I had trouble taking Metformin for it as it was clashing with my coumadin.
So Sunday night I had a sudden crushing Migraine, and when I still had it Monday I went to the hospital. In Aiken, where my INR was 9.5 critically "thin" none clotting. The scale goes from 1 to 10 and I try and stay at 3.
Monday afternoon after many tests they sent me to the Neurological ICU in Augusta and after many tests I had brain vein stents put in. I have had stents put in my heart and pancreas but I didn't know they could go up the Femoral artery into the brain and do the same thing.
They also fixed a case where an artery had grown into a vein and blocked it.
While I was in recovery and getting tests they found a piece of left over valve flap skin outside my plastic heart valve I had put in in 2006.
After many more tests and still no decision what to do about it or if anything needed to be done about it, they sent me home while they decide what to do. Once they determined it had been there a while with out any major issues I could go home until they could figure out what to do, if anything.
I have this picture of a flag left up the pole in the wind with the end getting ragged and pieces coming off and acting like clots in my heart and brain. but i don't know if that is right or what.

Good grief Z man. That’s just crazy. Hope they figured it out and can do something for you. Your description about the flag was so telling I could picture exactly what you were saying.

Appointments scheduled now.

Wednesday Cardiologist in Aiken to hear results of transesophageal echocardiogram, etc. and path forward including therapy, medication and additional tests. And new blood pressure controls/meds
Thursday INR clinic, therapy and med changes

didn't hear much from the mrv but they didn't keep me so it must have been ok
inr is 2.8 so that was good but is with the belly shots, tomorrow i get meds for the bp and come off those belly shots and I will hear about that problem with the valve and what the plan is for it.
then thurs i get meds for blood thinner but still have to take those shots every 4 hours until sat
also thur i get meds or shots for blood sugar, i am hoping pills my son thinks shots, but once a day.
so right now my bp is 176/107 hr 95 and my blood sugar is 213, but its time for my shots
now we will more than likely lose power thur so i don't know if drs will cancel or not

Thanks for the medical updates Zman. Sounds like you've been going through the wringer a few times and still having medical battles. God bless you my friend and continued prayers to you so you can finally get some R&R away from dr.'s for at least a whole month. Take care!
