Okay guys, all my feast is doing it's own thing, now it's my turn. I've never done this before. I bought a large jar of cherries to spike. Some of them went in the ham, now the rest is mine! Have any of you ever spiked cherries with liquor? If so what liquor did you use and what procedure did you use? I can look it up online if all else fails, reaching out to my compadres here first.

Well this is my own recipe. When I opened my liquor cabinet the first bottle staring me in the face was Jack Daniel Tennessee Fire. I've never tasted it before but if it is made with my favorite Jack, then it can't be that bad. I filled a quart jar with maraschino cherries then poured the "fine kicking liquor" to the rim. Only time will tell!

Haven't had any form of alcohol in over twenty years now, so remember it's a dusty memory.
You could ferment the cherries and double distill the results for a cherry brandy filtering with cherry wood charcoal. It is called a eau de vie if I recollect properly.
I don't know how Jack Daniels will go with cherries.

It has been my experience that fruits, any I have tried, will soak up the alcohol. They can sometimes, depending on the liquor used, become a little "strong". In every case, there was no fruit wasted.

Mother Earth News has a great story on it plus the process. Of course the stills aren't free so I'll just bide my time to get one. I don't know how Jack Daniels will go with cherries. Well I just had to try my own recipe. Have to say, after just tasting one I'm definitely not disappointed.

I know that Hubby Mike has a jar of Moonshine Cherries in the pantry. Apparently just moonshine and cherries. I'm not interested in liquor so I've never tried it.
