I like to make my own dehydrated backpacking meals because Mountain House, Backpacker's Pantry and all the other prefabs you can buy are terribly expensive - and honestly not all that great. I usually will dehydrate leftovers of what ever I cook for myself - I have a lot of leftovers because it's just me and sometimes my adult kids. I found a site with some Prepper folks on Youtube - www.youtube.com/channel/UCtsEvz-rnVZs7uOIGoR7gMA - The Frugal Homestead, who have some really amazing recipes. One of my recent favorites is Pizza Pasta. 1 box Radiator pasta (or other very curly pasta) 1 - 2 jars Pizza Sauce (depending on how much sauce you like. I use one small jar of the Great Value brand) 1 2-cup package of mozzarella cheese Pizza toppings that you like. Cook the pasta till it is al dente. Drain well, and put back into your pot. Add the pizza sauce till it is to your liking. Add in your pizza toppings and return to low heat, stirring gently but thoroughly till everything is heated through. Serve and add the cheese on the plate while it's still hot enough to melt it. This freezes well for future meals. It also dehydrates well if your toppings don't have a lot of fat. Of course, leave the cheese out if you are dehydrating it. A word about pizza toppings. Use what you like on your pizza. I like pepperoni and banana peppers, which is what I used the first time I made this. The banana peppers gave it a real flavorful zing. The next time I make it, I'm doing canned mushrooms, canned, sliced black olives, banana peppers, bacon and fresh spinach. Enjoy
