With dairy farmers dumping milk, food left rotting in fields, etc., what is this telling us to do? Dumping of milk I consider a short term issue. But what about the food? increase our food storage?

It depends. A lot of food was contracted for the restaurant industry and with them closed no one is buying that food.
If it becomes and issue of not having workers to harvest or workers to work in food processing then there will be shortages and price increases for sure.

Re crops, we are having trouble in Central WI finding workers to plant/run the machines to plant the crops.

Why can't the manufacturers of powdered milk buy the excess and make powdered milk?
