Today my niece bought her husband a semi-auto 9mm Smith and Wesson SD9 so we shot a 100 rounds of 9mm and .22, no they didn't have any ammo to sell her but we keep about a 1000 rounds of those 2 calibers out where we can get to it in about a half minute so that's not an issue.
I don't know when this run on ammo will play out the sporting goods store she went to, sports academy, said everytime they put guns or ammo out for sale someone comes in and buys it all, even all the guns on display. Anyone know whats up with that? Sounds like a left wing liberal/idiot plan to keep guns and ammo out of the conservative hands.
They had the handguns in a safe, not on display and she had to ask to see a specific gun and they would go get it and bring it out until she found the one she wanted to buy. Then no ammo for it. Really, I have been in there when they would limit the amount you could buy, but none? maybe they are afraid looters will steal the guns and ammo if they don't have them in a safe, but why couldn't yo just ask for and get the limit for whatever ammo it was you wanted.
They are just going to make me go in every day and buy the limit when they start selling again.
Is this something the dems are doing until after the election and they are voted out for four more years? They can't mean to do it for longer then that, the ammo makers haven't stopped making it, pretty soon the dem party of Aikin WILL BE OUT OF MONEY.

We have Covid, civil unrest that is not being squashed, and a critical election coming. That adds up to folks who are generally ambivalent about guns and ammo suddenly becoming interested in being better armed and stocked up. In this group, we are well aware of the importance of basic preps BEFORE things happen, but most of the country is not. Welcome to the latest wave of panic buying. It will soon be spreading to basic supplies even more than it has. Watching NICS background checks is a way to estimate gun purchases. For the past several years, the number of gun purchase background checks has been between 20 and 25 million per year. This year, we hit roughly 20 million just halfway through this year! Lots of new shooters and more experienced shooters stocking up.
The populace of suburbia is getting spooked.

covid is an issue and seems it will remain one until they get a vaccine, then the issue will be getting people vaccine ed, where do they go, who gives the shot, do you then have to carry around your shot card so you can show it to the "shot" police when they ask?
Not my questions, not my issue to solve, as far as I am concerned if you don't want to get a shot then you can spend 21 days in a quarantine camp instead, your choice, but not your choice to put me at risk when I am doing my best to stay away from you. Then you might have the issue of carrying around your quarantine card for the "quarantine/shot" police.
"YOU" is not "you" in this case but "everybody/anybody"
We all have to go to the store or whatever once in awhile where we might encounter an infected person and become an infected person who might infect someone else, but we do'nt have to go to the local block party where the same issue might exist.
My solution would be to test everyone at the block party and if you found anyone infected make everyone there go to quarantine, but then you get who does the test, why do they have to test, where is the quarantine, whatever. Your free to go or not that's your choice, the gov. free to test you and quarantine you in the name of national security. They would only need to do it two or three times and sane people would stop going, the insane idiots would just die off.
Seems to me you just infect everyone, treat what you can, let the other 10% die off and be done with it.
Then fine China so much for every person who was treated/died because they allowed it to happen. Take the fine out of the money we owe/borrowed from them and be done with it. If they actually end up giving us $ divide/give it to the survivors, if it's just on paper, eat it.
As to the idiots protesting and turning violent, put snipers out near them and let them be as peaceful as they want, when they turn violent or start breaking property laws, shoot them.
It wouldn't take too long til they decided to stay home and watch TV instead of going down and looting/burning out the store where they buy their beer.
Stop enabling the idiots and there won't be as many idiots.
It's about supply and demand, if more people want guns/ammo make more guns/ammo.
It's a good thing, more power to them, the big difference is I will use mine not put them in a closet and hide them until I take them out and "brandish" them at "trespassers", We have castle doctrine here, the difference is if a crowd of people broke down my gate and came on my private property the police would need to bring body bags for the protesters when they came to arrest me. I would expect to be arrested, I would expect to be tried, but I would also expect the same laws to let me go. That's the law, that's why we have it, if you don't want to be shot stay off my property, stay home and watch the other people peacefully riot on TV.
I already stock/store the number of guns/ammo I want, If I wanted more I would buy/stock more. I own/store the food/water whatever I think I might need in the next 90 days, If I could not go out or the supply chain went down. If "you" didn't prepare and run out, don't come to my house, I am not required to be in your supply chain. I will consider you a looter and shoot you in your empty belly, bring your staving kids with you as co looters and I will shoot them in their empty belly. Go to NANCY'S house and loot, see if her security people don't shoot you in the belly too.

Until I have a lifetime supply, I "need" more
I started stacking higher and deeper in December and I slowed my consumption. Then when the rumblings of a new China virus became barely audible, I kicked it into high gear with 5.56/.308. While high capacity 9's are my staple self defense, I shoot .357, .44 mag often- neither of which are readily available without paying scalper prices.
One good thing in all this, I have rekindled my appreciation for the power and range of my Mosin M44s. My old eyeballs with iron sights are the limitation now. Still shooting some brass cased 7.62x54r 182gr made in 1955 - 100% reliable. Seriously, not one failure of any kind in the last +\- 150 rounds.

I shoot .308 and 7.62x39, I just 10 or so years ago started shooting 5.56 regularly, didn't have an AR on the place before that. I have a CZ bolt action in 7.62x54r and it's a good shooter, never had a mis-fire in 3000 rounds, but I have no idea when they were made, bought two 3000 round cases of the 54/.308/39/5.56/2.23 at the same time in the late 80's, I remember buying them because I was living in TN. then and I had to order them special. I still have 1 case of the 54r but have shot all the rest from that buy.
I shoot mostly 9mm in pistol but have several 9mm rifles/carbines including a danged old Hi-Point that is ugly as hell but never has failed to fire. Even have a 9mm Ruger PC Carbine. I like my .45's but I will always be carrying a 9mm. Either my M9 or my LC9 depending on how concealed I need/want to be.
