It's been years since we have raised any rabbits, but the other day the guy we gave our cages and rabbit's to when we got rid of them was here and I was talking to him about what he had now.
Well yesterday he brought over 4 dressed rabbits he had butchered. So after soaking 2 of them overnight in the fridge I cooked them for to nites supper, and they were great. The other 2 I put in the deep freeze.
Since I did the cooking and didn't want to mess them up so I put them in the slow cooker with a pint of heavy cream for about 4 hours then fried/simmered them in the electric skillet using the cooked down cream like a gravy. Made a batch of buttermilk biskets to pour them over and wished I had more.
We used to buy dressed chickens and rabbits from a guy my Son did some work for, in fact he is the guy who bought our quail when we sold them so I am going to try and get some more, I want to fix some more like I did and I want to deep fry some.

I'm down for cooking up some quail eggs on an iron skillet over a wood fire as breakfast before the quail itself gets served later for supper.
