I love chicken, boiled, eating some boiled thighs right now, fried, baked, I don't care how it's fixed.
The point is my son hates chicken, saz he had to eat it too much growing up, I doubt that, saz he had to help butcher them growing up, he did but I don't remember him saying it was going to affect him for life. It's not like we butchered them/some every day, maybe every month, I kept them at different ages during the spring and summer. Maybe it was a bigger issue than I thought. I used to always butcher chickens, from the time I was 8, with my Grandparents, til about 5 years ago when we stopped keeping any.
We raised hogs to butcher, cows to butcher, rabbits, quail and yes chickens, I don't know of him not wanting to eat beef or pork or rabbit or quail, just chicken, although he doesn't like fish either, I don't know what's wrong with him.

Some things affect kids when we are not looking. Your son -- Chicken; my DD#1 -- apparently hurricanes/really sever weather. I took them to their gramas who lived in Sarasota during the beginning of tropical Storm Helen in 2010 and left them with her and my sister/BIL for 2 nights. On the way back to Tampa where I was meeting DH and Aunt/Uncle (our ages) at TGI Friday's for MY big birthday, the state/county CLOSED the SUNSHINE BRIDGE as I was just at the end of it. Very scary driving but no ways as bad as a blizzard.
Anyhow, she and her DH refused to go for an all expenses paid vacation on Siesta Key this summer due to that trauma.... She was 9/DD#2 was 8 and DD#2 and SIL ARE COMING. So it just depends. This was the first I heard of it but it didn't help that the latest weather has fueled her fears. And she just went through a near tornado in Chicago!
