So we go to church on base every Sunday (weekend gigs notwithstanding. It befuddles me how the reserve units like to do their ceremonies on Sundays.), and we go to coffee hour after Mass. So apparently while I was getting food for myself my son was chatting with the chapel secretary. Nothing out of the ordinary here, but apparently they got to talking about coffee since my cup was there with a full cup as usual (not consumed yet because I was waiting for it to cool to a drinkable temp). As I brought food over: my son told her that apparently I joined the Army to drink coffee.
Of all the reasons I've heard to join any branch that was definitely not one I expected to hear coming out of his 5-year-old mouth! This wouldn't surprise some of my fellow soldiers who are convinced drinking coffee is how I hydrate myself because of how many French presses they see me drink on an almost daily basis.
