I don't understand what is going on
To me it is making the republican party look stupid, can anyone help me understand?
I am ready to declare myself an independent and disassociate myself from the republican party, I am not saying I support Kevin McCarthy, or not, I am saying this process at this time makes the republican party look like clowns, I think the party should not keep/support those 20 or what ever democrats imitating republicans, they should resign, if the republicans lose the majority, so be it, better to work with the lights on the have 20 pretenders in the ranks

I like what is happening. Kevin McCarthy is the problem, not the 20 CONSERVATIVES that will not vote for him. Kevin McCarthy spent (from his PAC) millions and millions of dollars in primaries against CONSERVATIVE candidates, favoring establishment RINO's. McCarthy and McConnell are a big reason why the 1.7 trillion dollar ommibus bill passed. This effectively stops the incoming Congress from using the power of the purse strings to stop the liberal onslaught against our country for one full year. There is so much more that I could say, but I'll leave it at thank goodness there are at least some COMSERVATIVES that are willing to stand on principle and look out for the American people rather than serve their own personal interests. This is what draining the swamp looks like. It is sometimes ugly, but needed. What is the point of having the majority in the house if all you are going to get is lip service?

Do you know that for about the last 100 years the speaker of the house for either party has been the one that raised the most money for the " party" so the one with the most special interest groups paying wins? Bah! We have a Constitutional Republic and it is by nature a messy process! Keep fighting the good fight ! Force the butt to concede to the people to get what he thinks he deserves!
It REALLY rips me that he moved into the Speaker Office before the first vote!

well, see I knew someone would/could school me on why "guy's" have to win sometimes
I didn't say I was for or against him, just that the "airing of dirty laundry in public ", like some members of the R party are doing now, makes the party look bad when it needs to be more than clean for the fights it has coming, closet D need to stay out of a R fight

The problem with politicians (this is not limited to politicians) is that when it stays behind closed doors all we ever get are rumors and whispers, but never what is really going on. Many politicians are sort of like vampires.........sunlight makes them shrivel up and die. To drain the swamp, we the people need to see what is going on, so sunlight makes a great disinfectant.
Making sausage ain't pretty, but it is a needed step in the process to get the end product that you want. This is no different in my opinion, in that to get true conservatives in office, the ones just providing lip service need to be exposed.
