True no soaking is needed but you get better cordage and the fibers are more pliable. I did learn something new after you seperate the fibers let them dry then make your cordage Thanks

Going out tomorrow and using my cordage to catch fish, well minnows i mean. It should be fun plus I bet you could make bank lines from that cordage.

Oooh, I just love this vid, awesome and well done. I have one question, what process do you use to remove the hairy stings before soaking the stalks. Can't wait to hear how your fishing trip went. Thanks for taking the time to make and post the vids. Looking forward to more.

Thanks for taking the time to make and post the vids. Looking forward to more. Some nettle have more stinging hairs then others.I just picked these by hand but if you rub them with a stick or a rock you get most of the hairs knocked off. It only hurts for a little while ;D You can also hold them over a fire to singe the hairs off Thanks for watching

Thank you for posting that was interesting and useful Thank you woodzy I didn't understand about the nettle cordage until the second set of video, then it was like a file door opening it my brain Like someone else posted I was used to seeing it worked dry buy some of the older folk around in Northern OK. Good information to file back in the brain drawer, thanks again.

Good information to file back in the brain drawer, thanks again. It is much easier to work wet but then it will shrink some.
