Being able to use this fungus to transport fire is a great asset. We don't have this fungus growing in my area that I'm aware of but of course we have others which will work.

If I'm not mistaken I believe it was TJ who posted way back when, a vid he made lighting a local fungus to start a fire and he also mentioned using them to transport fire.

I have tried with some in my area and they're awesome to watch. Once lit they slowly burn and spread out, just feed them a little oxygen now and then by gently blowing on them and you're good to go to light your next fire.

I believe most people don't realize punk wood works just as good as tinder fungus. Once you learn what punk wood is and what it feels and looks like you won't need tinder fungus.That being said,knowing all the tricks gives you more options. more options means a greater chance of surviving.
