We just finished building an 8x16 "camper" painted camo to haul into the National Forest deer hunting. We will haul it in for weekend stays and such.
We used a 32 foot RV last year and just could not get it in very far. So we will have two bunks, a way to cook, etc.

If I decided to be homeless, that's how I'd roll...

Doing what he had to live without being a parasite. By all means flay and quarter him. I can't bring myself to get upset at a guy burning a little weed and doing what he did to get by. Especially in a state that has effectively made weed legal for those that can afford to jump through the hoops to get it. Now the state is going punish him for trying not to be a parasite. Thats just insane.

We don't have the money to house serious offenders so we keep injecting them back into society with a slap on the wrist. Who friggin cares about a few homeless pot-heads in the middle of nowhere. Fine 'em for littering and kick 'em out. Burn the shed down on site.

They always have. No cop in his right mind wants to be in Watts or East LA. But drug bust? Sure! Everyone wants to be on that team. Especially if its some single hobo in a park, not a well armed dealer in a fortified suburban house.

You said a mouthful there cwi, their priorities are totally misconstrued.
With times as bad as they are and more families becoming homeless I guess they'll become the easy pickings and targets as opposed to going after the really bad guys.

If he were poaching I could understand. But he was just a homeless guy trying to live off the land and not be a bother to anyone.

i agree a slap on the wrist is all the guy needed. if the cops do not have crampballs enough to go after the real criminals then maybe they need to get some new dops. i suspect the real problems is the DAs that want cases they can win so their winning prosecution rate is nice and high for re-election.

It's not the cops fault. We need to restructure the laws so that only people who are a danger to others are put in jail.

Those who steal in white collar methods such as selling bogus bonds and other forms of fraud that take the life savings of someone acting in good faith should be put under the jail. Other than that, if they are not a risk to life or limb, fine them and or make them work public service, and let them walk.
