Wow, that's really cool! I wish I had honey locust where I live. Black locust spines are quite a bit smaller, but maybe I could make them work. Good job OT, let us know how it works! Thanks, I sure will

I read the replies from others in regard to using many other items for OT to make a hook and have to agree with y'all to a certain extent. OT's project is strictly based on what he finds in the wilderness which is quite challenging and he's pushing himself to conquer this which to me makes it all the more intriguing to see what he comes up with and more importantly the fact that it will work for him in a survival situation. I viewed the video Dave Canterbury made showing how he made a hook fashioned out of the same needles OT is using. If you view the whole video you will hear Dave mention how important he feels this is a skill everyone should learn and practice and the reason being you lose hooks and you just may be in an area where you can't find scrap whatever to make a hook out of. JMHO Great job OT, I'm impressed by your perserverance, keep up the good work and thanks for sharing what you are accomplishing.

I sure wished we lived closer together I know we would have lots of fun. Thanks for the nice words and you are right about making hooks all natural. It's a skill you can fall back on when needed ;D
