These are the instruction sheets that I have been using to learn how to build nets. I give full credit to Mr Anthony Emery for handing down this ancient art. He has been helpful getting me started and I hope that I too can do the same. I'm pleased at all the response to this and I thought I would put this in a separate thread so that it can be bookmarked and easily referenced. To enlarge the text just push and hold the Ctrl button and click the + key and it will enlarge for you. I am still going to make a How-to video to show some hands on net tying. If anyone has any questions please ask and I will be happy to help if I can. Bj. wtrfwlr

BJ I'd like to see some of your nets you've made so far. Can this technique be used to make castnets, crabnets, crawfish nets and gillnets?

BJ I'd like to see some of your nets you've made so far. Can this technique be used to make castnets, crabnets, crawfish nets and gillnets? Hey there girl, hope it's all good on your end! Yes you can build all those nets and more. This is the baseline to build virtually any kinda net you want. I've let my net tying hobby kind of go by the wayside lately, I'm well on my way to learning to reload ammunition so I've been really preoccupied with reading and setting up the presses as well as gathering all the tools and supplies for that. I am however just before starting a pretty big net project. I'm going to build a Ghille net for my duck boat for this up coming hunting season. Ghille suits start with a basic net and that is what you tie the burlap stings or strips to. I know I promised a video earlier in the post so maybe this will give me a chance to follow through on that. I'll keep you posted on the progress. If you have any questions just let me know I'll try and help out or at least point you in the right direction.

I have an online book about casting your own bullets if you or anyone else is interested.

Doing well BJ and hope you are the same. You got my attention with your Ghille boat cover for hunting. Very interested in seeing that project for sure. Those would make great stealth covers for hunting in the wilderness as well as used to camo shelters.

kutkota, I've seen quite a bit of that info out there and have intentionally not looked into any of it. I have this bad habit of biting off more than I can chew. Plus there is only so much I can afford! I'm concentrating on the basics and gathering all the odds and ends I need. Maybe after I get a few thousand rounds under my belt I can expand. I'd really like to get into doing the powder coating bullets I see all sorts of benefits to setting up for that process.

Gonna have to get outta this 100 degree stuff before I can do a lot though!
