Driving a car thru a gun store is a curious tactic. There was a gun store near my old home in St. Louis County that was ran into by a car multiple times until they finally built concrete pillars around it. This was 30 years ago too. Seems stupidity repeats itself . Good on the owner who was able to defend against the knuckleheads.

From the article.. "All of the weapons stolen from the store have been recovered, he said, but he would not say whether the men were armed when they allegedly broke into the business."
Is it me, or is the author of this article an idiot?

90% of the people who write up the news stories around here are all in college taking journalism classes. So go figure. Breaking and entering using a stolen car and doing a smash and grab works fairly well unless they stay around too long. As far as were they armed or not, the fact they were stealing guns and would have had them in their paws/hands will be enough for the store owner to get by OK, plus he made sure he heard one of them say "kill that sucker" before he started shooting. They won't charge him with anything. I would never take the time to ask a thief holding a gun in his hand if it was loaded What surprises me the most is the recovery of all of the guns. Between the EMT's, LEO's and the owner him self I would have expected to see several missing guns reported. Normal around here when something portable is stolen they will catch the crook 60% of the time but the stolen property seems to make a clean gettaway 90% of the time.
