Howdy y'all. So I had this problem: I was carrying a mini tool, victorinox, and small blade (3 knives in total) in my pocket as part of my EDC and needed to get rid of the weight without sacrificing the functionality.
I recently picked up the Gerber Dime. It does all their functions wonderfully well and has a lot of things I need in a mini tool. It has (quoted from Amazon) "stainless steel pliers, wire cutters, a fine edge blade, spring-loaded scissors, flathead screwdriver, crosshead driver, tweezers and file, the Dime includes a unique blade designed to safely cut and score plastic packaging and a bottle opener that is exposed even when the tool is closed."
It is a great little tool. I have found some additional uses for it as well. The edge of the screwdriver makes an excellent firesteel scraper.
The edges near the hinges rub together and wear off the paint/anodizing/powder coat but that's not really an issue.
The blade has a convex grind and a roach belly blade profile.
I have had it for about a month and it is holding up great.
