I see some people have regular steel pot or kevlar version. I stick with my ski helmet and skateboard helmet. Just need some thing so I don't bang my head. What type of head protect if any do others use.

None. I wish I had some though. Also, combat eye protection is rarely discussed. I don't have that either.

i have a pair of maui jims balistic glasses, titanium frame and small prescription portion at the bottom of the lenses so i can read/tie knots while fishing, that sort of stuff. they are also polorised bronze which help my eyes a lot (i am quite light sensitive).
as to helmets, well i have my full face motorcycle helmets (12 of at last count) and a couple of climbing helmets

As one who has spent some time wearing Kevlar, I think I'd almost rather have a head injury. The darn things are so heavy that after a few hours the only thing I wanted to do was get it off. But alas, I couldn't take it off!!!!!!!!

But alas, I couldn't take it off!!!!!!!! I started off with the steel pot and I have to say I thought kevlar was an improvement. At least the balance was better. I just want something to protect my head from bang and bumps. It would not be the first time i ran into a tree branch or open closet door. Thats why I am going for the skate/ski helmet.

Hockey helmets work pretty well and can be picked up at second hand shops and garage sales. I recommend a good cleaning on them though.

I know I probably should have one, but I wear my kevlar as little as possible while playing Army so I just can not see myself wearing one day to day. I have nothing.
