Drop hot rocks into it and you can even boil water.

Porta loo, field expediant tool box, rope storage,Hunting seat in the ground blind, doubles as a gear carry. Pet food storage(non prep) works better then those xtra large bags it comes in. Car wash bucket. Oil recycling bucket/oil dry floor compound storage.

I really didn't know exactly how many 5-6 gal bucket I really did have. A cursory count yielded 113 buckets. Not all are filled . . . . yet and some are utility/ "bean"/garden buckets and two are rat traps
Hey that's another use for a 5 gal bucket . . . RAT trap.

I don't think I thought of any new uses....but some I'd like to give a shout out to:
container gardening (herbs, spices, veggies etc.)
toilet
garbage can (with or without liner)
Great thread....I think I'll have to start acquiring some more of these.
For those of us who store food in them....we'll have an almost "renewable" supply of buckets as we eat up our food storage...

I use them for keeping all my yoyo's straight and organized, outta the floor of the boat too. The absolute best way I have ever figured out how to keep trotlines from tangling into a huge mess, especially running lines at night. I use them exactly the same way only try this - cut little 'v' notches all the way around "crowning" the rim and your hooks wont slide around and tangle up. One hook, one notch . A hacksaw works great for the job.

oh! I almost forgot...
primary fermentation vessels for wine and beer making.
That is actually one of the MAIN ways that I employ 5 gallon buckets...so obvious I almost forgot!
