My son has one and recommends it highly. Says the little canisters have a long burn time. Carries a backup canister but says he's never had to use it when the original starts out full. I'm impressed. I think for a 72 hour BOB with MH meals requiring only boiling water they'd be awful nice . . . and Lite as well.

Thanks G, I will post up when I end the canister, so far its at about 65 minutes of use, between full throttle and simmer.

I've been using mine for years. It's a very reliable, light weight, efficient piece of kit. I have not found anything better out there to replace it. I prefer the 4 oz fuel canisters as weight/space savers. One 4oz canister will generally last for a week of back country cooking for 3 people. That's heating water to reconstitute three meals a day in mild weather. Cold weather will double fuel requirements since your starting water temps are much lower. At the end of the trip, I’ll burn off the remaining fuel and pitch that canister in order to start the next trip with a full one (or 2 depending on the season). That way, there’s no guess work on how much fuel I have.
I also enjoy cooking over the fire from time to time. Generally though, I don't want to have to build a fire for three meals a day, especially in bad weather. The fire also coats the bottom of my pots in a tarry suit that has to be scrubbed off or it will gum up everything it touches. The pocket rocket cooks without any residue, making clean-up a snap.

Thanks for the video. It made up my mind for me as I have been thinking about one for some time. Thanks "WILL" for the tip on the size canister you use. I will not be using that long at one time but just a couple days at most. Jim

I have been using my Trangia for the most part this year, I think thats why I got so excited about the quicker boil time. FWIW, I saw a diagram or someone said the little stove folds up and can sit inside of the Soloist pot with a fuel can underneath it, I haven't been able to replicate that. I do carry the fuel can in the pot but I have a little scrubber sponge and a can of tuna to round out the space, the stove is in the red case it comes with tucked into a flashbang pouch on the backpack.
