One of my neighbors used to be an avid camper. Sadly, a number of years back, she caught lyme disease while on one of her wilderness trips. The lyme disease really trashed her joints, with several requiring replacement. She's still not back to normal, but she's much better than she was. She has two, beautiful Huskies. She walks them (more accurate, they walk her) for physical therapy. Today, however, I saw something I'd never seen before...down the street she came, sitting in a very sleek-looking 4-wheeled cart, being pulled by her two Huskies! It was quite impressive! The dogs, always well-behaved, were obedient, and seemed to really be enjoying themselves. Of course dogs are used for hunting and guard duty; and they are used as sled dogs above the arctic circle; but, I'd never given much thought to dogs being used as working animals for towing and carrying. Her cart was a Saaco brand -- very impressive. This is a photo of a one-dog Saaco I pulled off the web:

Well now that's a cool idea if you have a calm well behaved dog!

I have a Doberman that pulls me around on my bike. This would be great for him and I, as I would not have to worry about being pulled over on the cart lik i would on the bike.

as someone that has been a musher for years I would never let one or two dogs pull a cart like that for more then maybe a mile
a dog can pull it weight all day but you do not want it to pull a lot more or you can hurt your dog
a dog can hall 1/2 its weight all day in good dog packs
I have over 100 races of 150 miles or more most musher have wheeled carts for summer they are great most up north use ATV tires on them it would be a good bug out 10 to 20 dog would take you 300 to 1000 miles

Thats awesome!!
I know a gal who has converted a racing sulky (2 wheel horse racing buggy) into a dog pulling cart and has a Great Dane/St. Bernard cross that pulls her around. She has a metal basket they welded on behind her and she has him pull her from the house to the grocery store and dollar general a couple times a week. Could prove to be a great method of transportation if gas goes out of sight or becomes unattainable!
I love this cart idea!! Do you have a link for where a person can find them and how much they cost? Maybe a person can put something together if they have the right materials laying around...just wondering how you would direct where the dog goes and how to stop them if need be.
