Will be making my winter camp tomorrow. This will take several days and I will take videos of my progress. Tomorrow I will be looking for a location and deciding what type shelter to build. I hope you all take part and give me tips or ideas I spend more time camping in the winter then any other time of the year. It's nice to have a camp not to far from home that is already set up. Once camp is made then I can add some bush craft furniture. I hope you all find this enjoyable .

We used to have the "bones" for a nice little teepee at school but when an additional plastic climbing toy was added and assembled, the teepee was taken down. Never anything but the poles, the teepee had been part of a "natural" play environment, along with a bench-sized section of a log and several shorter sections placed like stumps. With any chance of the teepee ever being properly finished and used, I decided to ask for the poles. They'll make a nice little shelter when combined with a tarp. You're going to post video of the shelter you build, right OT? I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Yes I will be taping my progress from start to finish. It's easier to build it now then wait till after the snow flies. I will start a new thread and post videos, named Winter Camp

Do you have a specific shelter style in mind? I might have to ride your coattails and get out in the woods behind my house and do the same.

I will be taking the tarp with me at the end of each day i'm in camp. Reason is I won't stay if it's raining and if I leave it someone may steal it.
