Ack! Your duck grew antlers! Oh I get it... it's for Halloween... a costume, but a little late.

That is a real nice looking spot. Sure hope you get a whopper. Black powder ended here today, and man I am ready for a few days off to rest.

I'm not real concerned about antlers at all. I am only concentrating on putting venison in the freezer. Since I wasn't able to hunt last year meant I went the whole year with out any deer meat, that is not a good thing for me! Beef has gotten so expensive I can't afford to buy it and the other thing is I absolutely love venison! We get 6 tags this year, 4 of which can be Does, if I can at least get the 4 Doe I will be a happy hunter! Have you had any success this year so far redneckidokie?

When we going! Modern Gun opens Saturday Nov. 10th. I'm going to try and head out on Friday the 9th. Bow seasons runs until February 28th but the deer get pretty scarce after Christmas. So just lemme know! If you wanna be here on the 8th we'll get your license and gear ready to go, we'll make camp Friday and get the tree stands located then be skinning deer on Saturday! I wish I could I would be there in a sec. . . . ML opened this past Saturday for me, This was the first year I missed opening day of ML in about 7 years. I haven't even hunted one time this year ,

I'm envious of those rubs! Havn't seen any buck sign this year where i'm at. Though I did just help my brother drag a nice eight pointer out last night so they're here. This is my first year hunting with a ML. Doesn't seem all that different than rifle. I try to only need one shot anyway I guess...
Beautiful spot you got there wtrfwlr!

This is my first year hunting with a ML. Doesn't seem all that different than rifle. I try to only need one shot anyway I guess... Beautiful spot you got there wtrfwlr! Thanks Mark. I know there is a lot more Buck sign in there I just didn't have enough time to really scour the ridges like I really wanted to. I just found those 2 or 3 fresh scrapes, if I could have found a real definite scrap line I would have gotten revved up! But they are there it's just a matter of being in the right tree at the right time. Another thing about up there is I know some areas that hold some really good Bucks but they are in areas that I don't think I could get them out especially by myself. I did have one Buck that I skinned and quartered on the ground and packed him out but these other places I'm not sure if I would be able to even do that. Consequently I don't even hunt down in there (scared I'd have to pull the trigger!) Give your brother a congratulation from me. On the muzzleloader, just keep the bore clean and your powder and caps dry and they won't fail you. Be sure and post some photos when you do connect!

Will do BJ!
He shot it about 3/4 of a mile into some blow down from a storm we had three years ago. It took four of us about three hours to get it out. If he was by himself I think he'd still be up there. LOl, I needed some cardiovascular workout anyway.

The number one fatality is falls from tree stands. Hunters are too stupid and lazy and dumb and ignorant and stupid and stupid, (did I say stupid?) to wear a safety harness. I have mine on and attached to the tree BEFORE my feet ever leave the ground! I try not to be STUPID!

Good to know about the heart attacks, thanks. Out of curiosity, where do gunshot wounds rank? Is there a statistic for self inflicted vs. getting shot by another hunter?

Totally awesome scenery there, would love to play in your backyard for a while. Hope you have great success with hunting deer this season and you get to fill your freezer.
