It's good. I just added an item to my shopping cart...lol. Actually everyone is coming out with early super sale ads, posting their black Friday ads, etc.

I like the picture of the fresh bread and grapes. cause you know that's not in a can. ahah. I haven't seen that before. It would be a good cheep starter for some one who has nothing I think. Dunno, I'm curious now.

some one needs to do a taste test! I was just looking at the 6-month package. That would do my family for a month (me and the wife + 4 kiddos)

Most of it taste good. The problem I've had with Augason farms is you have to be mindful of the serving count. Other than that, they are not bad, just be sure to weight up the caloric count before placing an order. Their home site is currently having a 15 percent off. www.augasonfarms.com/Preparedness-Supplies

Good site blacksmith, I have not seen this website before, when I was in Virginia this summer I did see some bulk items they had for peepers, here in PA you have to order the stuff and either pick it up at the store or pay for shipping if you want it sent your home. Thanks for the post.

One should always look for calorie count to determine how long each container would last (i.e. 1 month supply). Nice to see Walmart getting into the mix, Sams Club was already pushing this (along with Costco) but I've seen some of these items actually on the Walmart shelves. Makes it convenient for people who don't like to mail order some items. PJ

You also have to make sure of the can size, some say #10 and some regular can. It might look like a good price until you figure the amount you would get for the price and shipping.
A lot of places are carrying several brands now. Dicks Sporting Goods, Cabelas, Bass Pro Shops and now Walmart is adding a larger selection. None of them are really cheaper than the other its just the ability to get it with out paying shipping is what makes it a better deal.
Like CWI555 said its in the serving size and the calories, you will need more calories under stress.
Those emergency food bars, one 1200 per bar and one 3600 are Coast Guard approved and there are two different brands on taste like coconut and the other like peanut butter I think Dex and Mainstay.
Which is another thing to be aware of with prepackage foods, if any of your people have alergeys you really have to research the contents, they use more peanut oil and such to get the shelf life and content up.

Interesting. This could make a nice Christmas gift for family who are on the fence about prepping.
