Although we lost all the great data we had compiled on the other forum we still have the right people to rebuild this forum with great knowledge.
I added char cloth to my fire starting kit as another tool to start a fire. The way I make my char cloth is with an Altoids tin can. I cut an old 100% cotton shirts in squares to fit inside the Altoids can. I make a small hole on the top lid of the can to let the gases out. I place the can on the fire for about 10 minutes or until I dont see any more white smoke coming out the can. The following video is not me but is similar to how I make my char cloth.
What other materials have you used to char and it works well?

Orly you're right about having very knowledgeable members here to build up this forum. That's one very important thing no one can take from us. Thanks for adding this, charcloth is a great asset to a firekit for getting fires started.

orly,
The typed up info is gone, but the people who put it there are here now. I believe you struck on something we all need to consider a focus. Rebuilding the information from that place that shall remain un-named.
