As always I headed off in a completely different direction when I read this thread title "Load carriers" I immediately thought of a happy little Oriental man in a wide straw hat pulling me and all my stuff around! Much like this feller~ Now this is a load carrier.

Did that come pouchless then you add what you want to it? I was thinking of investing in a Sherpa

Geron, if you and your wife were here, I'd give your wife a pouch full of cattail fluff tinder to bop you on the noggin with! ;D ;D ;D

That vest is pretty much what im looking at. Being molle you could move stuff around to allow the molle ll belt and straps i am using on an alice frame or keep it as is for an extension of BOB or GHB

Just FYI, put your vest on and have someone place the pouches for you while you have you BOB on. My first drill I was the idiot private that put all his junk on the back and then dang near broke my back when I slung up my 50 lb ruck directly on top of my 2 canteens. Also some of the new FLC have a zipper on the front that gives the entire vest a tighter more secured feeling while running, etc... Might be a bit higher priced though.

I followed the link from CGU and bought myself one of those. I'll wear it under the Alice. If I ever have to sprint my way to safety, I'm probably screwed, but I can definitely do the slow and steady. Once it arrives, I'll probably go over everything I want to carry and move some items to different locations. Always remember, slow is smooth - smooth is fast. Thats a common quote from some of my training

I like the quote. Slow is ok for me, provided my knees survive. I've had an issue with them, one in particular, for a month now and have been hobbling at school. There's absolutely zero arthritis or other joint pain issues in the family, so I'm wondering if it's a side effect from hypertension meds which have caused several other undesirable side effects. So... slow and steady is all the knees can handle right now. Hills and other stamina-sapping situations have always caused me difficulties.

If your knee is sowllen (sp) the joint is retaining fluid, so BP meds will do that, ask for a diuretic to help with water retention. If it isn't swollen Rub your knee with WD40, rub it in good it will lubricate the joint.
Three major things with joint, too much lube, not enough lube or the joint is worn out which only surgury will help.

I have been fortuneate enough to have hard some very good dogs in my life, to the extent they saved my life, even a couple of cats I was very fond of but they would become food. And if food was becoming an issue and in a situation someone was killed, I would harvest the backstrap and hams atleast, they don't need them any longer and I do.
They would just be wasted meat. I hope I/it doesn't get to a point I would be willing to kill a human specficly for food, but I have not faced that situation yet and hope I never do.

Ok here is a pic of the type of setup I am looking at. The harness could just be a vest but I am not sure how it will hook up www.copsplus.com/prodnum2655.phpLooks like 3 ammo pouches 2 canteen pouches and a butt pack
