Well I decided to take some pics of my B.O.B./Bushcraft pack contents. Here it is: My Bag is an Eagle Creek School bag with leather bottom, one large cavity with one seperate section on the back. Each side has a netted carry pouch. It's attached to an Alice frame I picked up for $10 at a yard sale. On the back of my bag is my current sleep system. It is a modern military patrol bag. I do not own the outer shell or inner black cold weather part of the bag. I have it stuffed inside a plastic trash bag and then inside the black carry bag strapped to the back of my Alice frame. Here's the contents of my bag. I'll go through each section individually: Main contents of my bag Clockwise from top right there is peanut butter, honey, bible, FAK, pulley, some metal rods, gloves, sunglasses, mini-altoids tin wiht pine pitch in it, paracord bracelet, saws all blade, file, hobo stove, gi belt, sterno, fiskars folding saw, duck tape, athletic tape, metal ring. there's 50' of 550 at top, and a machete at the bottom. The netting bag has tarp, reversible emergency blanket, and my poncho. The peanut jar has my 5 minute fire.

Here's the contents of my blue container. From clockwise top right there is the container itself, extra large trashbag, another mini altoids tin, sandwich bag (with spices, pins, sewing kit, safety pins, matches, patches, hair ties, candies, paper clips), payday bar, paper, pencil, soda straw, red pouch full of parched corn, ziploc with lint and sawdust, container lid, alcohol hand sanitizer, cottonballs, gauze. Scout EDC - Clockwise from top is the hatchet, small sheath knife, folding knife, canteen with stainless steel cup, home made leather pouch, military ammo pouch, multi tool, and Old Hickory with pouch. All the sheaths were home made from leather.

Clockwise from top right my home made leather pouch contains a ziploc with tea bags and emergency blanket, small net bag, plastic trash bag, 20' of 550, carabiner, altoids tin (with needle, thread, and slingshot bands) wrapped in a bandanna. The military ammo pouch contains another bandanna, with 2 rat traps, 20 feet of snare wire, and 30' of paracord. My Old Hickory pouch contains (clockwise from top right) a mirror, 4 in one whistle, fire steel, small flashlight, Smith's Pocket Pal, compass, small fishing kit, and lighter. The knives I carry are(from top) my Old Hickory 7 in butcher, Western Boulder Colo Model 66, Colonial stainless folder, and a Husky multi tool. Caveats: This does not detail the EDC in my pockets and wallet. It does not detail the extra clothes in my car that sit next to my B.O.B. I keep 25' of 550 on my boonie hat. My Craftsman hatchets wool blankets, and wind up flashlights are in the 2 B.O.B.s at the house. This set up is simple and once dressed, I carry mutch of it in my cargo pockets (like the saw, FAK, and gloves). I still would like to get another wool blanket for this bag. I just ordered a MEST Tarp from Bushcraftoutfitters.com to replace the tarp in the bag.

Nice setup PW. I have rat traps in mine also. Only I drilled a hole in one corner of each and threaded wire through it so if I catch a varmint in it the trap can't be dragged away as it will be anchored around something like a small tree.

Interesting, the pulley is something I haven't considered.

What are your plans for the steel ring, and the pulley? Maybe I need one? Course if I had room or could carry it, I'd probably have a chain and come along to. I started a new bag last week, and already can't carry it. LOL

The pulley is for lifting heavier objects safely.
