You posted a really cool radio that had several functions and was multi powered, can you post it again please?

Midland XT511 is the radio you want, I'm pretty sure. I ordered one and have it at home; it's great!

The only thing I'd say about it is if you ever have to reset everything from scratch, you may need to refer to the instructions. I'm one of those who will forget the steps involved in something if I don't redo the procedure from time to time, and I realized just yesterday that a complete reset for me wouldn't be nearly as easy if the instructions were lost. It's the same reason I have to keep practicing stuff like knots -- I haven't fooled around with these procedures since age 2, or studied them in depth since age 3, therefore the brain forgets.

I was impressed with the clarity of the reception during Isaac . Angelhelp, I keep the operating manual enclosed in a ziploc in my pack containing my radio and accessories just in case I'm not around and others will have it to know how to use and set it.

YOU are SO correct! We cannot figure out how to reset it from our old house location so as to get the right weather warnings. Need to find those instructions here!

Here's a suggestion on my system of keeping any product manual at the ready minus my radio manual of course. I have a large binder with alphabetized dividers. Each alphabet letter has a vinyl pocket to insert manuals in if they are too small to punch holes in to insert in the binder. Along with the manual I include the purchase paperwork to keep track of the warranties. Once a product bites the dust I dispose of the manual and paperwork. It saves me a lot of time instead of rummaging through drawers or boxes to locate them when needed. Of course, designated folders in a file cabinet would serve the same purpose.

I can run the directions through the copier and send. PM me a destination. Um... just remembered Ceorlmann saying something about Christmas gifts and you... if you were his send-to person, never mind because he already has the info.

Solargeek, I copied all the instructions. The dopey school copier ran out of paper, so I reinserted the copies I'd already made and copied on their other sides. One page shows an overprinting where I wasn't sure which way the reinserted paper needed to face, so I redid that page as well as the index. You have all the info now, but you may need a little acclimating when you go to look something up. If you prefer, I can scan it all and email the files.

This is a link to the pdf file of the unit woodscustom has. midlandusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/XT511-Manual-RevE.pdfI bought the ETON FR600, it has all the same except I can not talk out. I can recieve CB, SW, HAM and all, but not respond. This one does have a separate internal batt pack charged by solar power. We have a Motorola system in all of the vehicles, boat, RV, MC, Handheld so I didn't get the one you did. However one member of our group did get the one you have and was going to take it back to get the solar, but since we have small solar units for the boat/rv etc he kept it and ordered a separate solar external batt pack for it. midlandradio.com/Two-Way-Radio-Accessories.NX9/AVP-7

Do you need my address or did you get it from Ceorlman? Really, thanks!!!!!

Considering Ceorlmann still lives at home with us, all I had to do was catch him when he was awake and not at work. Sometimes this is a bit tricky since his hours and mine have very little in common, but I handed him the papers and he'll get everything mailed.
