I posted this on the old site but thought I might put it up here. Seems like every time I look at someone's kit I get an idea. Maybe this will help someone else. This is my military cup and stove along with a few other things. I carry this on any outdoor adventure I’m on.

Make sure to get the US stove and canteen, the offshore made stove doesn't fit quite right. I use the canteenshop stove which is a bit burlier and more brawny although admittedly more heavy also.

Dennis, is that a Government Issue canteen bag or an aftermarket canteen cover? Does it attach to a pistol belt or does it have a harness? Back in my Infantry days all we were issued was an olive drab cover with the insulation to keep wet and help keep the water cool (in the summer). Mike

The Molle pouch is the new style.

Nice. That and a knife gives you a huge leg up on any wilderness survival issues. Cool kit.

Very nicely done. I don't think you can beat the canteen/cup/stove set up for compactness and function.,,,,add the goodies, Great Kit!.

I've gotta get one of those stoves for my kit.. You should consider the British "Crusader" cup and stove system. They are top notch kit !

Looking up the brits crusader stove.. found this on bushcraftusa.com:
I went to the UK 2006 bushmoot camp and a guy by the name of Stewart intoduced himself and asked me if I was the "Stovie guy off the forum" I said yes and he asked if I used the Crusader stove. I told that I'd tried it but did not rate it, due to very poor performance and told me "I was one of the designers" I said sorry but it was just my opinion and the surprising news was that he agreed, it was crap. He told me how, IIRC, the design brief was to make a cooker that would burn alcohol gel, as cheap as possible using existing machinery at the factory that punches out the Crusader mug its purpose being to heat water for a brew or ration pack meal. I guess with those limitations the stove is as good as you'll get and are far better than the MRE heater pouches. Winter 2007 at one camp a mate gave up trying to boil water on one (even with a lid on the mug) after about twenty minutes and I boiled a kettle for him on a stove; the temp was only around 28f -4c.

I really like this pouch with the swiss army water bottle, cup and stove it was made for, although it appears they now longer have the bottle/stove/cup combo, but I have 6 so it is ok the side pouch will carry two MRE, I replaced the cork stoppers with rubber ones from home depot. any of the new neopren bottles will fit. T old stainless bottle would also takr a rubber stopper from a lab allowing for the steam to run out a tube and recondense for distilling water or "other" suger based distillants, maybe why the quite offering. I will try and remember to post pics when I get home.
