So, I only own 1 gun. It is a .22 FIE Texan. It misfires every other round. The cylinder has hammer marks all over where it misfired. I need a new cylinder.
Anyone know where I can get one?

gunpartscorp.com carries them but they are sold out. $59 + change. Don't know if they can get any more since FIE has been out of business for a long time. Was located in Miami, FL and was import/export outfit. Hope this helps

I do not own any .22 pistols, but maybe as well off buying another one in the meantime. I am sure someone on here has information on which ones are the best. I do need to find me one also since my wife is bugging me for a handgun and my 357 is too much for her. Jim

I love .22 pistols.. I have a revolver and an semi auto.. OH wait.. I have an RG .22 single action revolver and the single shot lever action rifle my parents bought for me when I was 15. that's what I meant to write.. They're my only guns and my favorites (duh!)

if you have hammer marks on the cylinder it may be something else. check the beveled gears on the back side to see if any are overly worn, then remove the cylinder and work the action several times to see if the actuator works each and every time or if it is falling off short on some.

as to suggestions I think by far the Ruger mark series and the Browning buckmark series will be most popular. If you are set on a revolver, Heritage makes a great convertible for the money as does taurus. Of course you can spend as much as you like but those are plentiful and usually good deals. I paid over 400 for my Buckmark 5.5 bull barrel camper model with match sights and URX grips and still think it is some of the best money every spent. essentially its a camper frame with match grade everything else which is why it was much higher than standard models. Thywar shot it when he stopped by and I think my trigger job surprised him on how light and crisp it was but you have to ask him. The ONLY thing I had trouble with the Ruger is the grip didnt quite fit and the mag release was odd for me.
High standard also makes some very fine 22lr pistols and revolvers.

Since you asked for help. I am in no way dogging your gun. But Please replace it with something more reliable. Those things were death traps when new. Ruger, Taurus, S&W, all make great 22 revolvers, althought pricey. Older used ones like High Standard, H&R, are usually serviceable and not very expensive. My personal choice would be look for a Ruger Mark II on the used market. The best semi 22 for the money. Good luck.

If you have hammer marks on the cylinder, the timing is off. For those particular .22 pistols, your about as well off just to get a new one. Attached are a couple of my .22's. Disregards the .45 it's a figment of your imagination... Attachments:
