Gun stores like where my son n law works are doing 80K a day. They also sell and repair automatics and silencers. Its crazy, he usually goes on a gun buying trip in March and September, If we waits till march this year he won't have any guns left to sell

I skipped a show in Tulsa this past weekend. No use going to one now, unless your selling. Those that are trying to catch up now, are out of luck.

Still trying to decide if'n I'll venture out to the gun show on Saturday. Wanting to see if I can score any deals and kind of want to see if Texans are panick buying as well.
I'm only looking for a .22 and maybe another scatter gun if the price is right.

Well, I just got back from my regular gun shop. The shelves were pretty baron. The shop keeper told me they sold out of every combat weapon and hi-capacity magazine they had, which was alot. Hundreds and hundreds of mags alone were sold over the past weeks. They still had a collection of more traditional firearms for sale such as lever actions, shotguns, revolvers and pistols and ammo to match, but anything remotely tactical was long gone. He’s was happy at first about the high sales, but says it’s just frustrating now. There’s no inventory in his shop or available, but a huge demand coming through his doors. He keeps having to send people away empty handed. While I was hanging out in the shop, two different customers came in looking for AR15s.

AK, Ruger Mini, or a stich of ammo for either that isnt 2-3 times normal retail from Port Arthur to ElPaso. IF, that is IF, you can even find one at all. Texas on the ban(d)wagon too my friend.

I wouldn't even want an AR or AK produced in this time frame since IMHO quality control is bound to be off a bit with the production being ramped up like you know it is right now.

Ive actually had the same thought WILL. Ammo runs QC may be suffering too. Be interesting to see if there are any bad batch recalls. BTW my buddy back in MO took 30k+ rnds to a gunshow two days ago and sold it all within an hour. Not gonna lie, he made a nice profit too.

Many of the manufacturers are hesitant to ramp up production. It's not the same as 1993, the proposed bill is a ban on the transfer of all 'assault' rifles that meet the conditional test of just one item. Unlike the 94 ban which had a conditional test of 2 attributes, all it takes with this current proposal is 1. A pistol grip, ability to take a detachable magazine, flash suppressor, etc. Thats how the post 94 AR's got under the wire. Take off the bayonet lug and the flash suppressor and it magically became a 'sporting' rifle. Further, the proposed law is banning the manufacture, and transfer of any new high capacity magazines, or 'assault rifles'. A dealer could call in the instant check after the date for a firearm they had before the effective date of the proposed law, and the sale would be denied. It already happened to the chinese MAK-90, most of the SKS's, and the norinco ammo among others. If I had a company manufacturing anything related, lower receivers or any serial numbered part, or magazine, I would halt production rather than sink a pile of money into something I'll likely never see a return on.

The black market will be rampant with 'assault weapons' if it passes
