So what are some outdoors/survival/bushcraft things you have never done?
I have never been hunting. I have done all sorts of other stuff outdoors; fishing, climbing, canoeing, camping, hiking, orienteering, shooting, etc. Yet I have never gone hunting. I am looking to change that.

Never ate a rat, 'cept fer a tree rat. Never done any major orienteering either. Did take a topo over in Cohutta once and went off trail up a hill and located my position on the topo from peaks and valleys related to the topo. Of course, I knew where I was to begin with. Was just checking the map ;^))

Never have started a fire "bushcraft" style. Done it with matches, lighters, 9v batt/wool, magnesium/steel but never any friction type of fire building. I'm working on changing that now.
Offtrail and x-wing have been my inspiration. I'm gonna get a fire started by friction.

LOL did you watch the latest episode of Survivorman 10 days where he makes fun of BG for both that and 'diving into fluffy snow as if it were not dangerous to get wet etc.' He never says BG's name; just refers to him as other well known survivalists giving crummy info. Had me in stitches. |

I never done any climbing except chinaberry trees when I was a kid to get ammo for our slingshots. I am a little too old now but if I had it to do again I think that would be what I would try, mountain climbing.

I have never committed suicide....
never had grasshoppers, crickets or maggots or any bugs to speak of other than those that you swallow while riding motorcycles or atv's.

I have never handled or shot a bow & arrow of any kind.
I would LOVE to know how to handle and shoot them...ALL of them!
I want to know how to make a long bow & arrows.

Well I have never been real 'bushcrafty', as far as survival camping I have done it, and hopefully still could. It just is not my cup of tea. The one thing, I do need to try more of is the bow drill fire making. Never did get that done, but I might should learn I guess. Another is outdoor gourmet cooking. Not just heating up canned stuff.
