With the current political climate in my state that's like shooting a 45 ACP bullet out of a 1911 at a target meant to be shot at with a Winchester Mod 70 30-06. I intend to do it nevertheless.

I like the concept..... will it actually pass the litmus test and become law is the real question.... and if it does will it survive it first run passed a federal judge.....In the end I doubt it becomes reality

Did you see what our Lt. Governor proposed today?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst called Friday for state-funded, specialized firearms training for teachers and administrators to guard against school shootings. Dewhurst said school districts would nominate who they wanted to carry weapons on campus. The training would be more extensive than what is currently required for a Texas concealed handgun license and include how to react technically and emotionally in an active shooter situation. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually not too different than some other rural areas that quietly allow existing concealed carry permit holders to carry at school. At least some people are thinking about the safety of kids at school.......
When the wacko entered Sandy Hook, multiple people had the cajones to take him on bare handed and they died for trying. No one can convince me that lives wouldn't have been saved. Now, the politicians and the press just want to talk about "how to stop this from ever happening again." Some idiots actually believe that.
