I didn't go for a straight up GHB, though this will be used for that. The concept of this bag is a 24 hour/scout/GHB, its part of the larger BOB/camping system. This bad will be with me daily in my vehicle and is designed to support a person for a day. Either as a GHB or to be used when scouting from camp, its basically a glorified survival kit with some extra items that might be needed. It attaches easily to the larger BOB (USMC ILBE main pack). In its current state the bag weighs 10 lbs (empty water bladder).
The bag consists of a fieldline tactical day pack in coyote tan. A waist belt has been added to the bag for stability.
1 2L camelback
1 hat
1 gloves
1 socks
1 poncho
1 fire kit (firesteel, lighter, cotton balls, jute)
1 repair kit (asst needle, thread, spiderwire, pencil, duct tape)
1 water kit (10 coffee filters, water purification tab set)
1 10x25 binoculars
1 solar/hand crank emergency radio reciever am/fm/wx measures 3"x 2.75"x 1.75"
2 25' 550 cord
4 hand warmers
1 flashlight
1 spare batt set (3 AAA)
1 rifle cleaning kit w/Mobil 1 30wt
1 letherman wave
1 KaBar
1 emergency blanket
1 metal cup w/ tall lid
1 Map / compass
2 coffee single (tea bag type)
1 hot cocoa
1 pack chewing gum
3 cliff bars (ea. 240 cal, 10g protein, 43g carbs)
3 Met-RX Bars (ea. 410 cal, 31g protein, 46 carbs, vitamins)
TP
Baby whipes
2 empty grocery bags
IFAK containing:
1 N95
4 gloves
1 hydrocortisone cream 1g
1 sunblock 1g
1 insect repellant 1g
1 lip balm 1g
2 alcohol prep pad
2 medicane swab 0.6ml
4x Benadryl 25mg
4x Tylenol 500mg
1 large 3x4 moleskin
1 40" triangular bandage
1 5x9 Combine (ABD pad)
3 3x3 gauze
3 2x2 gauze
1 3" stretch gauze
5 lrg band-aids
5 sm band-aids
4 butterflys
1 4x4 compress bandage (isreali bandage)
1 folded sheet alum foil
1 quickclot
tape, safety pins, tweezers, rubber bands and gloves
There is a ton of room left over. As my group's "medic" I will have a larger FAK that can easily be slipped into this bag. There is also plenty of room for an extra load out of ammo if needed. The bag might get a penny stove and fuel too, undecided on that.
