Came across yet an even easier way to start fire with PP and sugar. 2/3 PP 1/3 sugar put the ingredients on a base plate such as paper plate, flat wood etc. now take a stick about 1/2" diameter I cut the end at about 45 degree angle to provide a larger friction surface. Simply rub the ingredients with the stick against the base plate to create friction. Within a few seconds you will see minor flickers keep rubbing and flames will develop. Very simple quick method.

Never tried sugar, will it work if damp? I'll have to give it a try. Thanks
