Went for a walk today and thought why not build a fire. Everything was damp and my fire steel would not work on my tinder bundle. I used punk wood and I believe the amber and me blowing on it dried the tinder out just enough to let it burn. It did take many tries but sometimes that's what it takes. I know it's a long video but i wanted to show just how long it did take.

Reminds me of home with how damp things normally get around here and what a PITA it can be to start a fire with just about everything being damp. Good job!

Persistance, creativity and patience are all great qualities for anyone to possess. You definitely have all these plus many more which would get you far in many unpredictable situations.

Good job OT.. I'm persistent.. I persistently buy 8 pack of bic lighters routinely. I do have the stuff and every once in awhile when I'm burning leaves or limbs I'll start a fire with firesteel.. other wise.. lighter or a match.

When I go hiking or camping it's just plain fun for me to use my fire skills for making fire....thanks for posting
