Kicked off today on Grand Lake O' the Cherokees, 1300 miles of shoreline and I believe it was 24 degrees this morning when they launched.. great lake, greater fishermen and great exposure for the lake and Tulsa where they'll have the weigh in. www.bassmaster.com/You can watch it live on bassmaster.com I think and if not it'll be on ESPN next week.

Very cool! I'm not all that much of a Bass fisherman but that is a great economic boost for wherever they go. We have had a couple right here by the house on the Arkansas River and the weigh in was held across the street inside the Alltel Arena, it was packed.

I have an Aunt who still lives on Grand Lake, we used to go down there every summer and spend a week at a campground near their home. Great time when you are 13-17. Not that it wouldn't be a great time at any age, it just sticks in your memory more when you are really starting to see things for the first time. (think girls in swim suits everyday and five pound bass with equal enthusiasm)
Of course the years from 10 to 13 are stuck in my mind as well, We spent those summers on the west side of Pikes Peak. Didn't think about girls at all but it was five pound trout then.

Well I lived 30 minutes from Grand Lake growing up and I NEVER equated girls in swimsuits with any fish of any size.. lol.. but then I might have a wire loose somewhere I reckon.. lol.

Maybe so. As I remember it the day a girl would beat out a bass or a deer hunt, didn't happen until AFTER 17. ;D Then for some reason I got plume stupid for a few years. You will be glad I came back to my senses after a few years though.
