Dick's had a nice looking LED Warrior lantern on a clearance rack since the beginning of the year. It's list price was $69.99. When it eventually came down to $30.00, I bit.
It's a doggone nice lantern, with a remote control, no less. But, the remote is (IMH0) unnecessary fluff, and it's not worth 70 bucks.
When I got home I looked on line to see if I could have gotten it cheaper off of E-bay or Amazon. Well-l-l-l...yes AND no.
No, because the Eureka Warrior was only down to about 40 bucks at the cheapest i could find it on the web...
Yes, because I discovered the exact same lantern, sold under different brandings for as low as $18.50. I liked the lantern so much, I immediately bought two at $18.50, each.
The Eureka and the Nichia both have infrared remote controls. The Rayovac and the Lighting EVER do not; but, like I said, I think the remote is an over-rated feature (although it does double as a small flashlight).
The Eureka, Nichia, and Rayovac are all rated at 230 lumens. The Lighting EVER is rated at 300 lumens; however, when I used the Eureka and the EVER side by side, the EVER just seemed slightly brighter, if at all.
Being LED light sources, and especially at low light settings, these lanterns run for many hours on a single set of batteries.
Eureka Warrior: List = $69.99, Amazon price = $50.18
